Diva Syndicat
1,000 years of women in music
What role do women play in the history of music? A very small one, if our collective memory is anything to go by... For a long time, for sociological or cultural reasons, women musicians, composers and performers have been absent from our archives, yet they have worked in this art form since time immemorial and on every continent.
Noémie Lamour and Gentiane Pierre bring their repertoire to the fore in Diva Syndicat, a burlesque show in which ten centuries of music, from the Middle Ages to the present day, collide. From Hildegarde de Bingen to Aya Nakamura, the duo of multi-instrumentalist singers explore the heritage of Western music, restoring women to their rightful place. To do this, the artists have fun taking on their roles, the ones they've taken on and the ones they've been given, in a veritable musical, theatrical and humorous UFO that not only sheds light on dozens of hidden talents, but also asks us about their invisibility and, more generally, the place of women in our society.
This show is accessible to the visually impaired thanks to audiodescription (in partnership with Alpes Regards 05).
From age 7, to be seen with the whole family.
