Hoa Mai

Hoa Mai offers unique creations, carefully crafted in small series. You won't find two alike! From leather goods to jewelry to home decor, I offer a collection of leather goods in a wide range of colors. What do I love most? Adding a touch of fantasy to everyday objects!

A lot of passion, for quality work.

Because craftsmanship also feeds on time, each of my creations spends hours in my hands. I don't use machines, and I do all the sewing by hand. This rhythm, which doesn't correspond to industrial cadences, allows me to take care of every stage of production.

I make these pieces, from design to shaping, in my workshop in Guillestre in the Hautes Alpes region of France. My know-how is enriched by my encounters and experiences, to offer you constantly renewed quality products.

A dose of ethics, for a friendlier world and a touch of humanity.

Tanning is an age-old art, using minerals and plants to transform animal skins into leather. Today, the techniques used can be extremely harmful, both for the people who work on them and for the environment. I therefore always take into consideration the origin and transformation methods of the hides and materials I use.

And the desire to share.

Because behind Hoa Mai is Hélène Mai! And it all began with a meeting: in 2010, a friend gave me a piece of leather and a few tools, and I made my first bag. Since then, I've tried, failed, learned and tried again!

Now it's my turn to pass on the pleasure of creation. So I organize introductory workshops in leather techniques, which also enable us to meet and exchange ideas! I adapt these meetings to the people present, so that motivation is the only criterion for participation!
