Visite: le Fort des Trois Têtes en compagnie des Régiments du passé
The association 'Les Régiments du Passé' will be joining Briançon from 8 to 14 August 2021 to take you back in time to the time of King Louis XV.
The soldiers of the Royal Scottish Regiment will be based in the town of Vauban and will take over the moats, the guardhouse at the Porte de Pignerol, the Place d'Armes, the Governor's garden and the Trois Têtes fort to show you the firing exercises, the life of a soldier...
Soldiers will take you through the military exercises of the time on the majestic Place d'Armes and, in small groups, introduce you to the hard life of a soldier.
Bring walking shoes and water.

2 ways of getting to the fort's firing range:
By car: From the Heritage Department, Cité Vauban, take avenue Baldenberger, then left to join avenue de la Libération then avenue de la République. At the bottom of the hill, at the first roundabout, go straight ahead and at the next roundabout, turn left into avenue du Général de Gaulle. At the next roundabout, turn left and left again at the end of the road, then immediately right at the roundabout towards the Col d'Izoard. Drive through the hamlet of Fontchristiane. A few hundred metres after the exit sign for the hamlet, take the road on the left, in the bend just before the waste centre.
Caution: reduced visibility, dangerous crossing. Continue on the road that climbs up through the fortifications. Reach the firing range on a platform used as a car park, where there is a long concrete and wood hut.
On foot from the upper town, along the path leading from the Asfeld bridge, 45 minutes uphill.
