Le Beau Monde
Two men and a woman speak to us. Like anthropologists from the future, they are going to try to perpetuate the memory of those now extinct social rituals known to humans in the 21st century, such as voting by secret ballot, football, kissing, or even the theatre, 'places where we gathered to fall asleep together listening to stories'.
From their falsely naive and clumsy efforts to resurrect these strange habits and customs, to re-enact them for us; from their offbeat look at our most trivial habits, comes a laugh tinged with melancholy.
It's with a great deal of tenderness that these three actors, proudly wearing their costumes inside out, all seams out - as if they wanted to turn our present upside down like a glove - summon up 'Le Beau Monde', that sunken world. Through the fragments of memory they recreate in a comically applied way, they are writing a popular history of today.
And finally, they invite us to reflect on the value of what we are living through, and what we would like to pass on to future generations.
