Refusing to confine the viol to early music repertoires, Robin Pharo makes it a welcome point of passage between the masters of the medieval period and the composers of our time. With mezzo soprano Anaïs Bertrand, he presents a programme of previously unpublished transcriptions and new works, carried by the hushed tones of the viola da gamba and the voluptuous timbre of the voice, lovingly blended.
