Exhibition 'Réminiscences'
Presented in the form of a 6-part trail, the 'Reminiscences' exhibition evokes the soul of the mountain farming past in short bursts, through not-so-dead natures and poetic visions captured in a 17th-century building.
When Julien Benard opens the door, everything is intact, frozen, suspended, as if Françoise, the mischievous centenarian, were still there, benevolent: the place, the foggy atmosphere, dark, peaceful, with discreet lights and outdated objects. And also her memories: the stories and laughter, the smell of the animals, the crackling of the old stove, the slow movements of carding the wool or weaving the baskets, the thud of the mule's hooves on the ground...
Tours of the exhibition are offered in conjunction with evening events. The dates and locations of the evening events and other parts of the exhibition can be found on the website.
Photographer and author Julien Benard combines artistic, documentary and journalistic projects. His approach is instinctive, with a predilection for portraits, nature and imaginary stories. At times dreamlike, poetic or intimate; at other times geometric, choreographic or even playful, it is nourished by contemplation and observations gathered by chance. A fan of creative encounters, he regularly collaborates with other artists.
This collaborative artistic project builds on the existing dynamic between the libraries in the Briançonnais area to offer an artistic journey combining visual art and sound creation.
