Mountain Discovery Stay in Névache - L'Echaillon
Family vacations with the little ones, in an unspoilt valley, discovering the mountain environment. Activities adapted to children's pace. Hikes to meet wild animals and goats or ewes on a farm where cheese is made, a ride with sled dogs, and finally a night in a refuge to experience a night in the mountains.
A stay that can be combined with our “Mountain Cocktail” for older children (aged 10 and over).
Day 1 : welcome at Névache
Welcome at the hotel in the afternoon from 2pm. Check-in. Briefing at
7pm with your guide.
Here's a sample program: activity days can be redistributed throughout the week.
Day 2 : Marmot hike along the Clarée
Hike along the Clarée to meet the marmots, those friendly, photogenic little rodents. A themed hike to learn as much as possible about the life of this small animal emblematic of our mountains.
Picnic lunch by the river, and return to accommodation in the afternoon.
2 to 3 hours walking, 100 m ascent.
Day 3 : Gastronomic hike picnic of local produce
From the hotel, we follow a bucolic itinerary to do a little shopping: goat's or sheep's cheese (depending on the itinerary chosen), and sausages for the picnic grills. Tasting of local cheeses and charcuterie, followed by the chance to make boats and watermills from tree bark and wood. Return to accommodation in the afternoon.
2-3 hour walk, 100 m ascent.
Day 4 : Sled dogs and cani-rando
In the morning, meet the sled dogs: learn about their kennels and the breeds in the pack, then set off on a cani-rando hike, a highly entertaining activity. Wearing a wide belt and connected to the dog by a shock-absorbing lanyard, you'll share moments of complicity with the dog pulling you.
Afternoon at leisure.
Day 5 : Hiking with a donkey and overnight in a mountain refuge
In the morning, we pack our rucksacks for the next two days before meeting the donkey who will accompany us and carry some of our belongings. Then we head up to the Chardonnet refuge, where we'll enjoy the warm atmosphere of the late afternoon up there. Play board games on the terrace or in the hall, or observe the wildlife in the area, or meet the herd of sheep if they're nearby.
3-hour walk, 360-meter climb.
Day 6 : High altitude hike and return to the valley
From the refuge, we climb a little higher to observe ibex or chamois in the magnificent Chardonnet cirque. Descend to Névache and end your stay at around 4pm.
3-hour walk, 150 m ascent / 500 m descent
VERY IMPORTANT : we reserve the right to modify the program for any reason whatsoever (weather conditions, snow conditions, technical level of participants) in order to ensure that your stay runs as smoothly as possible.
