Devoluy

This massif is impressive because of the light and the scenery. Pic de Bure (one of the most important astronomy observatories in the world is here), Obiou, Grand Ferrand and Faraud overlook vast, wild areas and agricultural land. In the Dévoluy, tourism and agriculture are one.

Superdévoluy, the remarkably equipped resort town and La Joue du Loup with its numerous chalets and beautiful residences overlooking thirty or so hamlets, provide a skiing

domain with 100 kilometres of slopes as high as 2500 metres in altitude, as well as all summer activities.

The Dévoluy is also home to natural treasures of which the most spectacular are undoubtedly the “chouroums”, natural cavities that are ideal for speleology, and the resurgences at Gillardes. Those who are curious will make the most of the visit to discover the unlikely Pellafol canal that is carved out of the rock or to stop off at Saint-Disdier. Here there is a jewel of Romanesque architecture: Mère-Église. Rambling enthusiasts will follow the road to the Col du Noyer (Noyer Pass) The Refuge Napoleon (Napoleon refuge), at the summit, has a view over the bocages of the neighbouring Champsaur valleys.
