Hiking in the valleys of Haute Romanche with the Hotel le Faranchin

You are now ready, shoes on your feet, poles in hand and backpack on your back, to set off to explore the Haute Romanche valley and its villages.
A few minutes from the great Alpine passes such as the Lautaret and the Galibier, your guide will guide you on the hiking trails, near torrents, medium-altitude lakes, all at the foot of the great peaks.

Like a panorama of unspoiled nature, different hikes every day, a different valley with La Meije and its glaciers as a backdrop.

A stay that is accessible to people who have already practiced mountain hiking.

Program of your stay:

1st day: Welcome and installation at the hotel.
From 3 p.m., you will be able to settle in the hotel then it will be time to share an aperitif all together and to get to know your guide, who will share with you the course of the stay.

2nd day: Tour of Lac du Pontet - Aiguillon 2095m
A hike that will take you to the lake, then via a balcony path, will direct you to the peaks of Aiguillon where a magnificent view awaits you over the Romanche valley and the summit of La Meije.
Return to the left bank of the Maurian to the small hamlet of Puy Golèfre.

Elevation: 500m 4 hours of effective walking / overall duration of the day: 7 hours

3rd day: The sources of the Romanche 2150m
The day will begin with the passage of the glacier lock of the pas d'Anna Falque to lead to the plan de l'Alpe. You will continue on this long flat to Valfourche and its view of the glacial cirque of the Tombe Murée.
Picnic on the flat springs or Valfourche.
Elevation: 450m 5h of effective walking / overall duration of the day: 7h

4th day: The Emparis plateau and the Lérié and Noir lakes 2450m
The start will be in the hamlet of Chazelet. This time on the program, a contemplative outing with the discovery of the highest plateau in the Alps. Passage through mountain pastures facing the glaciers of La Meije.

5th day: In the kingdom of the Ibex 2350m
This day in the heart of the Cerces massif will lead you in the footsteps of an emblematic animal of the Alps.
Peak picnic.
Elevation: 500m 5h of effective walking / overall duration of the day: 8h

6th day: 'Alpine' day at the foot of the glaciers - the Pacave breach 2836m
Ascent by cable car to 3200m, you will be guided through a very mineral landscape towards the Pacave breach, then along the 'Vallons de la Meije', to the intermediate station of the cable cars at 2400m. Return by cable car to La Grave.
