JEP - Visite de la chapelle Saint-Ours
A historic monument, this pilgrimage chapel was built in the 18th century. In 1817, at the request of the parish priest of Guillestre, the chapel was given the name of Saint-Ours and became a stopover on the pilgrimage route of this saint to Meyronnes.

Chapel built in 1783 for Jacques Court, merchant, and Louis Bérard, mason, both Guillestre residents and neighbors. Located on Louis Bérard's property, the building was constructed halfway between the two homes. The work was carried out by Louis Bérard, who also supplied the wooden door and stone altar, while Jacques Court purchased the main painting depicting Notre-Dame des Neiges and Christ, the candlesticks, altar cloths, chasubles and other objects needed for worship. Maintenance was the responsibility of the two sponsors. In 1817, the chapel was dedicated to Saint-Ours and became a pilgrimage site. The wall paintings date from after this date and were probably completed in 1826 (date shown). Abandoned with the Manoir du Serre in 1846, the chapel was restored in 1872 by the Court family, when they regained possession of the estate. Listed on the Supplementary Inventory in 1986, the chapel and paintings were restored shortly afterwards.
