Throughout the week we will take time to walk the many high altitude trails that will lead us from the Chenaillet massif dotted with underwater volcanic rock to the fortifications erected by Vauban, the mythical Col d'Izoard, paradise of cyclists, in the Vallée des Fontaines where agricultural traditions are still very much alive. We will cross in turn green forests of larch overhung by superb peaks slender towards the sky and flowery pastures dotted with lakes of altitude with crystal clear waters or old chalets testify to the harshness of the peasant life of yesteryear!
